My qualifications - BAHons PGCE QTS

I hold a BA (Hons) in Music/Music Technology and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education with Qualified Teacher Status, making me fully qualified to teach music in schools up to A-Level. I have been dividing my work between classroom music teaching at Lancaster Royal Grammar School since 2013, and have been privately teaching the piano at home most of my adult life! I have taught music across all age ranges, and was a previous secondary Head of Music for several years before focusing on family and teaching on a more individual basis, which is where my passion lies.

I keep my annual Safeguarding training and DBS clearance regularly updated and have links with the European Piano Teachers Association.

My main instrument is the piano, I also play the violin and voice coach on occasion.

• Piano – ABRSM Grade 8, with the Lloyd Hartley Memorial Prize for Pianoforte

• Violin – ABRSM Grade 8

• Plus lessons in Music Theory, Improvisation, Composition, and Performance Coaching

I strive to combine the professional with a friendly, encouraging approach that helps students of all levels grow in confidence and creativity.
